Forever in our hearts
Oluwakayode, Oluwadamilola, Adedamola, Oluwagbebemi (aka Kay) was born on May 15th 1997 in Bodelwyddan, North Wales, the younger of two children to Akinwande and Ibipeju Famoriyo and long awaited brother to his sister Oluwaseun (aka Olly). As his name translates ‘Joy Bringer’, our long awaited charismatic and beautiful baby graced our lives with much joy.
He started his schooling at Little Bees Nursery in Glan Clwyd and went on to St Georges School, North Wales. From there he moved on to Fairholme School in St Asaph where he spent 2 years before going to The King’s School, Chester, where he was until the family moved to Jersey in 2011. He settled in very quickly on the island and attended Victoria College (Vic) in Jersey for 4 years, where he was well liked by students and staff, excelled in his studies and achieved his GCSE’s and A Levels. He attended the University of Birmingham from 2015 till 2018, where he graduated with a BA Honours in International Relations and Politics.
As testament to the multi-talented person Kay was, in 2008 he had a starring role in the production of Macbeth at the Theatre Clwyd in North Wales, which ran for 3 weeks. Playing the part of the son of Macduff, he showed himself to be quite the young rising star.
Kay was a recipient of a student bursary from the law firm Mourant Ozannes, where he had an internship working as a paralegal. He was also a prolific athlete and a talented footballer, playing for school and various clubs, with many medals and trophies to show for it. He was an avid and passionate Liverpool FC supporter.
Kay was not just a ‘Joy bringer’, he was a fun-loving son, brother and friend who loved with all his heart. He was intelligent and confident, yet compassionate and kind. He was caring, encouraging, tall and handsome, with a cheeky smile, wonderful wit, and the ability to engage and forge a relationship with anyone from the youngest to the oldest. He was devoted and loyal to his friends and family and had an impact on all he encountered. He had the potential to be anything he set out to be – a philosopher, a lawyer, an advocate for the disadvantaged and helpless.
On Tuesday 27th November, Kay slept in the Lord playing his beloved game of football.
Gone too soon, forever in our hearts.
